Host

Rohan Rebeiro

Rohan Rebeiro is an experimental musician and composer. His work as a musician is centered around minimal percussion and hypnotic textures. For over sixteen years he has been the drummer and percussionist in acclaimed minimal avant-rock band My Disco. My Disco have firmly established a reputation internationally for their minimalist approach to noise, and highly immersive performances. The band has released albums through iconic international labels such as Temporary Residence and Downwards Records. Rebeiro also performs as a solo artist, the most significant being Kangaroo Skull, where he explores rhythmic minimalism through the use of machine generated sounds. Based around a cold, dystopian view of electronic music, Kangaroo Skull has released music on highly regarded labels such as Temporal Cast, Noise In My Head and Butter Sessions Records. His live sets are crafted around a masterfully manipulated TR 808 drum machine, augmented with digital soundscapes pulled from his painstaking exploration of Max/MSP. The result walks the line between analog grit and digital precision. In addition to his own projects Rebeiro has also recorded and performed with the likes of HTRK, Coconuts, Jane Badler, Paul Grabowsky, Sir and Tarquin Manek among many others.
